If ] & ! pgrep -f joy2key.py >/dev/null then If joy2key.py is installed run it with cursor keys for axis, and enter + tab for buttons 0 and 1 Is there a way to change the button from 0 to 4 so it works with the wireless setup also? I see the commands in the /opt/retropie/supplementry/runcommand/runcommand.sh but I don't quite understand what to change (I think something in this area is what needs to be changed): I tried pressing all buttons on the controller but none of them will let me select/change the emulator. When using wireless controller as per the instructions buttons A, B, C & D map to values 4,5,6, & 7.
Usually buttons A, B, C & D map to 0, 1, 2 & 3 on the XBOX 360 controller. It works perfectly except for one small issue. What I using is an XBOX 360 wireless dongle as per these instructions: "Press a key (or joypad button 0) to configure launch options for emulator/port ($emulator)." I don't know if I can add a comment here for this option: I don't even need to remove them, just stop them from being functional.
If anyone knows how to disable any of those settings manually please let me know. Would something like that be possible in EmulationStation?
I also have a Kodi setup on a PC and it has a kiosk mode setting which locks the menu options for users. If there was a way to disable these options no one would cause any accidental damage while playing.
My only issue is that allowing a friend or a child to use my system leaves me open to the possibility of them destroying my settings because they accidentally went into a menu and started changing things. My emulators are all set right, my roms are all scraped, and my PS3 controllers are configured perfectly. I have a Raspberry Pi 2 B running RetroPie and EmulationStation Simple Theme and it works perfectly.
